Elon Musk Neuralink Update 2020
Elon Musk presents a link from Neuralink on 3 pigs.
On 28th August 2020 Elon Musk presented in live stream updates for Neuralink, his Brain-Machine Interface Company.
He presented a new chip, called a link, which has:
- 1024 channels,
- 23mm x 8mm size (coin size),
- megabit wireless data rate,
- all-day battery life.
As Elon described it
It’s kind of like a Fitbit in your skull with tiny wires.
This is how it looks

Neuralink Updates Summer 2020
Elon Musk has showed a pig called Gertrude with a coin-sized computer chip in her brain to demonstrate recent progress in Neuralink and ambitious plans to create a working brain-to-machine interface.
Gertrude was a happy pig with a 2-months old chip from Neuralink.
Elon Musk has shown also a bunch of other pigs like:
- Dorothee with a chip removed, showing that you can always resign (or go for an upgrade).
- a pig with two chips.
All in all, the presentation was a huge success and you can watch it here.
